Five and Diamond is an independent alternative fashion brand and boutique born in San Francisco in 2007. Known for dark, black-centric fashion, small-batch production, and inclusive design, the brand blends goth, punk, industrial, festival, and underground aesthetics with artisan craftsmanship. Its focus is on creating clothing and accessories for people who reject mainstream fashion and use style as a form of identity, transformation, and unapologetic self-expression.

After nearly two decades in San Francisco, Five and Diamond began a new chapter in Portland, Oregon, moving into the historic Gardeners and Ranchers building in the city's Central Eastside Industrial District. Today, the brand operates what it calls its "Secret Store" at 331 SE Madison Street, tucked beneath the Hawthorne Bridge at the corner of MLK and Madison.

The location feels almost deliberately hidden. This isn't a polished mall storefront surrounded by national chains. It is a warehouse space under a bridge, set inside a massive historic industrial building shared with more than 30 creative businesses. Mannequins dressed in black leather, vegan leather, straps, layers, and sculptural silhouettes stand against the raw warehouse environment. An ornate carved wooden door from Bali adds another layer to the space, connecting the Portland store visually to the artisan craftsmanship behind the brand.

You don't simply stumble into Five and Diamond while shopping at the mall. You have to know it is there. You find the warehouse. You find the door. You enter the underground.

That experience perfectly reflects the brand itself.

Five and Diamond has built a world for outsiders, artists, alternative communities, festival culture, and people who have never needed permission from mainstream fashion to decide who they are. Their Portland Secret Store isn't just a retail location - it feels like a hidden clubhouse for alternative culture, sitting literally beneath the city.
