Sticky Shaw

Sticky Shaw (born Robert Shaw in Newport Beach, California, 1981) is an independent visual artist, designer, street-art maker, and cultural nomad based in Venice Beach, California. Known for his gritty, expressive, and often punk-influenced aesthetic, Sticky's work blurs the lines between street art, graphic design, and fine art, creating bold visuals that reflect his lived experience and the vibrant subcultures of Southern California and beyond.

Growing up in Newport Beach, Sticky faced challenges with dyslexia and a learning disability - struggles that ultimately drove him toward art as a powerful means of self-expression and escape. From an early age, he gravitated toward punk rock, skate culture, and the expressive freedom of visual art, embracing a DIY ethos that has become central to his work.

Sticky's art is characterized by layered collage compositions, vibrant stencils, and an energized mix of imagery drawn from animals, urban life, surf and snow culture, and the undercurrents of punk and street art. He frequently incorporates personal ephemera - collage elements, layered paint, and bold mark-making - to craft pieces that feel both chaotic and deeply reflective.
