In 1983, Printmaker, Sarah Whorf, (https://sarahwhorf.wordpress.com/) and I were shopping down Melrose. It was my second time there. There was a "For Rent" sign for this small store. And I was thinking, "Wouldn't be great to have a store where all the Artists could put their stuff on consignment?' A bastion of the underground for any artist true to their form?" So here we are now. I just wanna thank all the punks, goths, hippies, ravers, drag queens and the fetish community. From, The Afro Sisters and Christian Death to Michael Jackson and Meryl Streep for not giving up your art and the energy to Create.. The doors closed in 2003. I've been asked repeatedly to have "The Slut" back. So let's do it. Contact us and let's get "the Art On!" We're open to full realm of artistic expression. From music and fashion and other passions that haven't been invented yet. I'm starting Retail Slut Records and partnering with the Non-Profit, Take Back the Power, that brings light to the world of ADHD. We're adding a Printed Zine; to support the madness.
