We've designed the space to be immersive. From the high-fidelity listening stations to the raw industrial aesthetics, every corner of the Lounge reflects the Retail Slut legacy. There's no sales floor pressure here, no clerk hovering to close a transaction. You can sit on a torn leather couch under red light for an hour and nobody will ask you to leave.
The listening stations rotate through the Retail Slut Records catalog alongside whatever the staff is currently obsessed with, which on any given week might be a Frightwig 7-inch, a new darkwave demo someone dropped off on a USB stick, or a scratchy bootleg from the original Melrose days. The archive wall runs alongside it, decades of press clippings, storefront photos, and event flyers under glass, so you're physically standing inside the timeline while the music plays.

WHO IT'S FOR
The Lounge exists for the people who used to camp outside the Melrose store before it opened and the kids who've never set foot on Melrose at all. Zine release parties, small acoustic sets, impromptu style swaps, all of it happens here first before it ever makes it to social media.
